Medieval Castle Builder.
During the Middle ages empires throughout Europe and the Middle East were divided by individual lords and princes. Many of these landowners built castles to defend their land and the people living on it. Castles were designed to be defensive and offensive in times of war when raids by neighbouring landowners were common place. Castles were built to not only defend the barons and lords, but also were built to defend the populace that lived in the immediate surroundings of the castle. Many castles were built on naturally fortified locations such as hill tops and cliff edges which served to make it even harder for the enemy to successfully attack the castle.
